The city of Diocletian in the palm of my hand route

Type of the route – entirely pedestrian.

Total length – about 2 kilometers.

Duration – between an hour and a half and two hours, depending on the pace at which you walk and also the number and length of breaks you take.

Appropriate equipment – comfortable sports shoes, as well as comfortable clothing and outerwear according to the season.

Recommended for people of all ages!


Our walk starts from the garden with the fountain situated in front of the colored sign HISARYA.

We are in front of the Tourist Information Center - Hisarya, which is our first stop today.

We enter the TIC - Hisarya, without even suspecting the huge surprise that awaits us here!

We are about to look at a model of the city of Diocletian on a scale of 1:150, made by Mr. Tono Mekikov, a resident of the city of Hisarya.


It's time for photos, lots of smiles and a great mood!


After exploring together this wonderful, curious and so interesting and unexpected landmark of the city of Hisarya, it is time to inhale the aroma of the wonderful camellias blooming at the entrance of the Tourist Information Center in spring.

They are beautiful, aren't they!


And now we cross the boulevard to take pictures in front of the colorful sign HISARYA!

Directly behind the colorful inscription, we are about to see the ruins of Basilica No. 8, dated around the fifth century AD. The basilica has three naves, with a semicircular apse, vestibule and baptistery (baptism).

After exploring this interesting landmark, let's rest our feet by the water pavilion "Colonnade Momina Banya".

The water from the spring has a temperature of 51.2°C, so be careful!


After a good rest, we head to the magnificent Momina banya park.

Walking in the park is a great pleasure in any season – without a doubt!


In the spring, we can enjoy the blossoming magnolia trees that radiate beauty and inspire our senses!

When you feel tired, rest on one of the many benches in the park.

Maybe you were thirsty? No problems! In the Momina banya park there are two magnificent fountains that will gladly quench your thirst!
