My dear friends, let's go to the village of Dushantsi! I offer you an incomparable charm and beauty walk through this delightful and fantastic village!
The picturesque village is located in a mountainous region, in a valley between Sredna Gora and Stara Planina, along the Topolnitsa river.
Very close to the village is the notorious Dushantsi dam, which you can visit.
According to ancient legends, the oldest family in Dushantsi is Lalovtsi, from which Lalush voivode originates.
Todor Nenchov Dushantsaliyata, also mentioned as Todor Dushanov, is connected with this extremely tidy village.
Todor Nenchov Dushantsaliyata is a Bulgarian national revolutionary, a prominent figure in the April Uprising, a delegate from Koprivshtitsa in the first Grand National Assembly of Oborishte and a member of the Koprivshtitsa Committee.
He was born on June 27, 1844 and hanged by the Turks in Plovdiv after the defeat of the April Uprising in 1876.
The giant sequoia of the village of Dushantsi
In the center of the village of Dushantsi rises a dignified and proud centenarian.
The huge sequoia is one of the symbols of the village.
It was planted here in the distant 1929, ie. today is 93 years old - (almost) proud centenarian!
You can sit in the shade of a bench and rest legs.
From the information board that greeted me in the center, I understand that nearby I can visit the authentic Roman bridge Kufarita.
After the bridge I can take the trail to the chapel of St. George, which is located above the village.
Nearby is the beautiful church of St. Cyril and St. Methodius, which you can visit.
Or maybe you want to visit Dushantsi during the holidays! This is a great idea!
I wish you a pleasant walk around the village of Dushantsi!
And, yes, the view of the majestic and old Balkan throughout the walk will just make you dizzy!
See you around!
I wish you an exceptional, relaxing, autumn, fresh and impressive walk!
