It was built in the distant 1880.

On February 1, 2015, the temple was most solemnly consecrated after a large-scale restoration, after which it fenomenosly good looking.

The wonderful frescoes in the church are the masterpiece of the icon painter Ivan Zografski, who was a companion of Georgi Benkovski and some of them have been completely restored today.

In the yard of the church is the grave of one of the enthusiastic national awakeners, who dedicated his whole life to the spiritual growth of the fatherland - the priest and teacher Rashko Stoyanov Zaekov.

By his will, his grave with a small monument and a modest inscription is still in the churchyard today:

"Here rests the priest Rashko Stoyanov, born in 1838 in Koprivshtitsa, who died on November 5, 1913 in the capital Sofia."
