My dear friends, today we will take a sunny walk to the native village of the sweet-spoken narrator Dimitar Ivanov Stoyanov or as you all know - the singer of the Bulgarian village Elin Pelin.
The native village of Elin Pelin - Baylovo is located in Sofia district, Gorna Malina municipality.
How to get here?
It is located in the middle of the western forested branches of Ihtimanska Sredna Gora and it is very beautiful all around!
Or as Elin Pelin himself describes it:
"My native village is located directly opposite the sun in a beautiful place, where Sredna Gora separates from its mother Stara Planina and heads east…"
The writer's home is located on the main street.
The great singer of the Bulgarian village was born on July 18 (according to some sources - July 8) 1877 and is one of the eleven children in the family of Ioto Vardzhiyata and Stoyanka Ivanova.
He grew up in an environment where education was highly respected. His father regularly brought books from the market in the city, where he sold lime. In his home library were "Ribniat bukvar", "Pod Igoto" and the works of Hristo Botev and Lyuben Karavelov.
In the center of Baylovo is located the monument house "Elin Pelin".
I wish you a pleasant walk around!
