My dear friends, today's trip will take us to the town of Brezovo to see the birthplace of the artist Zlatyo Boyadzhiev.
Zlatyo (his first name can often be found as Zlatyu or Zlati) Boyadzhiev is considered one of the most original Bulgarian artists of the past century.
He was born here - in this house, in the (then) village of Brezovo (Principality of Bulgaria) on October 22, 1903.
This is his monument, located in front of the municipality in the town of Brezovo. In front of the municipality I was greeted by a wonderful California poppies.
He graduated in painting at the Academy of Arts in Sofia.
In 1951 he suffered a severe stroke, as a result of which his right half was completely paralyzed.
There are difficult years of recovery, but he has a strong spirit and does not give up his favorite pastime. That's why he learns to paint with his left hand.
Born and raised in Brezovo, his birthplace is a special part of his work - "Brezovo Shepherds", "Village of Brezovo", "In the fields", "Wedding in Brezovo".
Zlatyo Boyadzhiev died at the age of 72 in the city of Plovdiv, where he was buried.
